Fate is one of those things in life where you’re on one side of the door and fate is on the other side, and for some reason you can’t open the door you have to wait for the day that the person or thing comes by with the keys.
You see Mizuki had decided long ago that she was to become a pokemon trainer, but she was stuck on one side of the door. She lacked experience and she lacked a starter pokemon. Really since she’d been living on her own making money off chores and small jobs she didn’t know where to get a starter pokemon and it never occurred to her to ask. She was stuck on one side of the door and fate was on the other. Maybe if she had decided to ask the door would be opened sooner, but since she didn’t, fate’s mysteries were hidden for 13 years. Fate happened to find her on the front steps of her friend’s house.
A slumped over figure breathed hardly. She’d just feed all the pokemon for her friend and cooked for the family. The frosty air nipped at her open legs and arms, it cooled down her body a bit from running around a steaming house for the past hour. She breathed out and raised her head, in front of her was a boy she’d never seen, and she’d seen everyone in this town because she’d worked for everyone. She eyed the boy carefully and spotted pokeballs hanging at his side. She gasped, a pokemon trainer, had fate finally led her in the right direction?
Him saying, “I didn’t mean to startle you but you looked so tired, I’ve never seen anyone that beaten before, not even a pokemon trainer, you must have stamina” interrupted her thoughts. Mizuki looked up and shrugged, she’d never thought about her scrawny self as having a lot of stamina. He stared at her again and she stood up slowly, just in case she needed to run. He looked at her and asked, “You look like a pokemon trainer, would you like to be one?”
Mizuki was so stunned she didn’t answer, to be a pokemon trainer was her dream. Her jaw dropped a little in awe, this little boy had pulled her out of her nightmare. This little boy had the key all she had to do now is open the door. This little boy saved her from the never-ending ocean and brought her ashore, this little boy gave her, her life back. She gaped at him with an open mouth and the little boy shook his hand in front of her eyes and asked again, “Would you like to be a pokemon trainer?”
Mizuki nodded her head still a little dazed. This little boy was her savior.
“Okay well follow me.” The boy said heading out into the forest, “I’ll take you to Chartreuse Town.”
As they ventured through the forest Mizuki's awe grew. She herself was never allowed there because of the wild pokemon that attacked, but it was pretty. They never got attacked by wild pokemon and Mizuki was a little disapointed, but they had made it to the town. The little boy who had been silent the whole trip lend her to the door of what looked like a large house. "Knock." he comanded, and Mizuki decided to follow even though she didn't take commands lightly she wanted a pokemon badly.
