It was funny how one thing could change someone's mood entirely, it was more peculiar then odd really, and made him realize how easy someone's who mind perceiving could change, it helped him realize how foolish some people can be at times. Although, if people wavered beliefs and thoughts so easily and quickly like how leaves turn in the wind, then this world would be onslaught with chaos, thus maybe there were some people who didn't enjoy those little things, and were stubborn to the very end.
For this aspiring coordinator, it was the frozen tears of the sky of which it shed so fortuitously, snow to be exact. It could turn his whole day from bad to good, and set a serene smile upon his face, he hadn't know why the bright snowflakes had filled him with bliss that day, and possibly he didn't want to know, just to enjoy it. The white flecks dancing in the sky, mesmerizing, oh thank the sky that winter was upon them, Yuki wouldn't want it either way. Summer was too hot, and Spring was too damp, Autumn's weathers were erratic, but Yukisho could never find a fault with winter, flawless in everyway.
Today had been the day which Satoko Yukisho would finally cease his side-lined watched journey and start one of his own, it was nerve-racking for sure, but Yukisho had experience of watching and learning so much, that he was confident enough not to worry about the future. Though the past did decide to raise itself from the deluge of Yuki's thoughts, thoughts of his mother and how is she now, and then the bitter thoughts of the hateful glares, it wasn't something Yuki enjoyed thinking about, none the least.
He didn't know where he was at the time, or where exactly the nearest Pokemon Lab would be located at, however he thought his lucked had changed when a middle-aged man had offered him a ride across the sea, because certainly where he was no Lab was located in.
"Hey, miss are you looking for a way to get across the sea? Sorry, but the S.S. Anne has already departed, but I could give you a ride in my boat, for a price..."
The man had a sly grin on his face, which Yukisho didn't approve of, worse yet, this was going to cost him something, just great. Wait, did he just call him miss? Maybe he had mistaken, and decided to brush the comment off.
"How much?"
The snowy-haired boy narrowed his gleaming fuchsia eyes towards the man, he didn't look well-dressed, tarnished jeans with various holes, and a stained wife-beater clung to his body unflatteringly, how could he wear that in such weather?
"Well, for a pretty girl like you, maybe I could let you on for free..."
The man then turned around and signaled with his hand for Yukisho to follow him, towards a pristine white boat was docked. Hff, the boat looked better then he did.
Yuki clenched his teeth at the 'pretty girl' remark, but then he decided if he didn't have to pay the price, he could act for a little while, it was worth it. Swaying his hips slightly, he walked unto the stranger's boat, and settled himself along the starboard seats. Play the part, play the part...
"I'm Yuki, thanks for being so generous."
Yukisho tried his best to higher his voice, though his mind couldn't stop laughing, it was hard to control himself to this point, but he took a deep breath. This had been the only and free way across, Yuki would just have to deal.
"Satoshi Kimura, now hold on, miss."
As he introduced himself, he started up the boat and departed from the dock. Yukisho was quite surprised with the speed of the boat, it was skimming across the water quite swiftly. Luckily for him the winter weather hadn't frozen over the water, just yet.
Enjoying the frost-fulled breeze, Yukisho kept catching his reflection in the quickly passing water....Do I really look like a girl?
Sooner then Yukisho has suspected the speed boat had docked on the opposite side of the body of water.
"Here we are, Chartreuse Town, have a nice day, miss Yuki."
Satoshi had bowed ungracefully as Yukisho departed from the boat, happy to touch dry land again, but moreso happy to get away from the suspected lech.
"Thank-you..."
Yukisho nodded, walking, swaying his hips lightly again, attempted to impersonate the opposite sex.
"Oh, and by the way...I'm a guy." Yukisho added slyly, and let out a small laugh, however he didn't turn around to see Satoshi's response expression, but he could imagine, and it was just too funny.
Brushing some stray snow particles away, the aspiring coordinator glance around the village before he began to walk, this time in a normal fashion. It looked peaceful enough, a quaint little hamlet, he wondered if he preferred places like this, compared to big cities like Celedon and Goldenrod. The Lab wasn't hard to spot, and Yuki thought maybe his luck was really good today, in a sense. If he was even luckier, possibly that Lab would be giving out Pokemon, it was worth a try right?
And thus, Yukisho took a slow-paced walk towards the village, taking various stops to enjoy the winter scenery, or to gaze peacefully at the playing children. It looked like this place knew no poor nor rich, and Yuki started to wish he grew up here, where it looked like everyone was equal. As he reached the Lab during his languid walk, it was apparent that he wasn't very impatient to receive his first pokemon, taking small steps up the walk-way the posted list caught his eye. So I guess, his luck was good today. Grabbing his chin thoughtfully, Yukisho peered at the list for which seemed like forever, methodically going through all of them, listing their flaws and pros, he wouldn't want to choose and regret his choice, now would he?
First Azurill, water-type, cute...evolves into Marill, then Azumarill. Hm, this would be a good choice for various contests, with its skill with water and appealing looks.
Second Pichu, electric-type, cute one again. Pikachu, then Raichu. Strong and fast, but I don't exactly like this one...
Igglybuff and Cleffa, both normal and very cute, though their evolve forms, Cleffary and Jigglypuff are elusive. Interesting.
Smoochum...Ah! An ice type, and psychic! What a catch, it's cute too...Evolves into Jynx.
Oh my, like I'm not feminine enough.
Elekid and Magby, not very appealing, nor are their evolve forms.
Bonsly, deceptive rock type, I'm not too fond of rocks...
Mime Jr and Munchlax, one psychic and one normal, Mr. Mime and Snorlax.
All these Pokemon are so peculiar.
Careful shuffling through various thoughts, it took a while, but Yuki came to a firm decision, well firm enough. Taking a soft breath, he lifted a gangly hand and knocked on the door. Tch, if getting this far had been such an ordeal of an adventure, Yukisho could only imagine what would come next.
