Narash wandered upon the sparring area looking somewhat confused, something only made more more obvious by the way he was scratching his head. This wasn't home, not in the slightest! No, it was a somewhat desolate sparring arena just outside of Honeydew town. Completely desolate and in a far from amazing state, to be precise. Fallen leaves laying all over the arena, the benches were covered in sand and dirt and the place looked like it hadn't seen any action in the last months or so.
And that was all about to change because Narash was about to have a duel of epic proportions with.... yeah, nobody was there. Besides, it was slowly getting dark! It really wasn't time to be hanging around in an empty arena, now was it? His parents would be worried sick if he didn't show up home soon.
Yeah, better get going. Swipes however, seemed to like the arena, pawing at some of the leaves. An ever active Porter was jumping from one location to the next with his Teleportation to check everything out, and Spark... well, Spark, she was content with just chewing on her red handkerchief. Red really had a nice taste after all.
"C...come on guys, n...nobody here, we have to head home..."

"Excuse me, but would you happen to be a trainer too?" The voice that rose from nowhere was light, and obviously feminine; indeed, a young woman appeared from behind a withered tree, holding a large umbrella above her head, whose hair was done up in an elaborate bun with three or four hair sticks in it. Another odd thing to add to the girl's wardrobe was her outfit, layers of kimono wrapping around her, the outermost of which was a deep blue, with scarlet chrysanthemum designs along the hems of it.
"My name's Murasaki, and these are my Pokemon." The kimono clad girl shifted her foot, revealing a trio of grass type Pokemon, who proceeded to investigate the scene by sauntering forward. One, an oddly colored Bulbasaur named Midori, noted the other three Pokemon with a critical eye, possibly picking out an opponent.
Sighing, Murasaki twirled the umbrella rod between her two hands, waiting for this boy to introduce himself; indeed, annoyance swept across her mind, yet she masked it with a false smile. Never quite warm upon first meetings, the only reason she'd even deigned to speak to the other rookie trainer was the fact his Pokemon looked to be rather weak, quite like hers, and easy training material. Too many trainers on Route one had fire or bird types for her current party to fight.
<"Does this mean we all get to fight?"> Kurenai whispered to the other two grass types, her voice holding a tint of fear; the little Cherubi was rather unsure of herself still.
<"Don't worry, you'll do fine. Besides, if you do get beaten, I'll always clean up."> Midori's statement was an attempt at kindness.
<"Like either of you two even need to worry about fighting. I could take all three of those losers down in one shot!"> Aoi's boast was loud, possibly too loud...

"I...I guess?" The answer sounded as much as a question as her first words had, the short figure obviously not being all too certain about it himself. Or perhaps he couldn't exactly form a proper answer, because he was too busy staring at her outfit. Had he missed Halloween again this year? The woman was wearing a Kimono, and she was brandishing an umbrella. It wasn't even raining! This had to be some kind of joke, but he couldn't just blurt that out. That'd be inconsiderate and rude, in case she did actually dress like that all the time.
"I...I only just started. I...I'm not very good at fighting at all... I.. I just like to have them around as friends." He mentioned for Swipes and Porter to come, but Porter hardly seemed interested. He had teleported over to Aoi, staring at the critter intently, for as far as that was even possible with the Abra's squinted eyes.
"W...why?"

"I'd like to challenge you to a battle, that's why." Murasaki giggled, twirling the umbrella again a little; the mental click helped soothe her anticipation.
<"What are you staring at?"> Aoi called, challengingly, though obviously put off by the teleporting abilities of the Abra.
Midori simply snickered as she watched the Oddish become unnerved; then again, she too was creeped out by the psychic Pokemon, an inborn trait of her partial Poison alignment, which Aoi shared no doubt.
The third grass pokemon, with no poison duality of her own, simply chimed to Porter, <"Nifty trick. Could you teach me how to do that?">
"How about three on three? We're both beginners, and I'm sure it'll help out later on." The kindness was merely bait to lure the diminutive opponent into a battle with this geisha looking girl.

"I...I suppose, b...but Porter doesn't really know how to fight... he just... moves around a lot." He mentioned over towards the Abra who attempted to show how to teleport, which... well, it just involved teleporting around Kurenai a lot. There really wasn't anything to learn out of it, other than the fact that Porter did not seem to even realise they were talking to him. He was rather distracted, and far too interested in this whole teleportation thing.
"I... I could try though... I... I mean, I...I don't get to fight somebody from the east every day, r...right?" Was Murasaki even from the east? Her clothing sure screamed it, but other than that, he wasn't all too certain if the geisha lookalike would actually be from anywhere but the region they were in right now.
"P...Porter, g...get back here. Stop bothering the nice lady's Pokémon."

"So you only wish to fight with two Pokemon? How about we make this interesting.....Feel like a tag team match?" Murasaki called, hardly showing any sign of emotion. A slight bit of annoyance ran through her head as she heard the boy guess where she was from, but Murasaki curbed her temper quickly.
" As a coordinator from Ecruteak City, I warn you I'm not about to go easy on you, even if you are a shrimp." Murasaki called haughtily, trying to enrage the boy; the girl reasoned it would be a much better fight if her opponent's heart was in it, and what better way to do that than to degrade him?
" Since you said your Abra can't fight.....I suppose I'll use my Cherubi, Kurenai, and my Bulbasaur, Midori."
<"Oh wow.....my first fight!"> squealed Kurenai as she stepped forward, standing beside her team mate. The Cherbui's heart was pumping, and her expression friendly and joyful; obviously, Kurenai was still a little innocent.
<" I didn't get picked?!? Why?"> Aoi screeched, running up to Murasaki in tears; noting the reaction of her Oddish, the kimono clad coordinator kneeled down, soothing the little weed Pokemon with a few soft words and petting the leaves on Aoi's head.
<"Kurenai, let's do our best."> Midori's tone was encouraging as she said this to the little Cherubi who would serve as her partner in combat.

"A...a tag team battle?" He nodded slightly, although he did not sound certain about it at all. Then again, he hadn't exactly sounded certain about anything so far. He can't have been all too hard to defeat, he showed none of the confidence that the fire and bird trainers had shown her while watching her walk by. Of course, his Pokémon didn't exactly have a type advantage either.
"I... I guess. S...Swipes and Spark c...could use a bit of training, I suppose..." He called the two over, though he instantly grew more uncertain. "C...can't we just have a two on two? L...like, not two pokémon at once?"
He didn't exactly even feel very confident about fighting with just one Pokémon, let alone two at the same time. Sure, Spark and Swipes were pretty good fighters, but he didn't exactly feel like he was a good trainer, or anywhere even close.
He seemed to completely ignore her 'shrimp' remark however, he didn't exactly get angry like Murasaki had been hoping. Instead, he just seemed rather confused. "I...I have never been in Ecruteak. B...but it sounds like a nice place."

" Okay. Fine with me. I think I'll change my line up though..." Murasaki eyed the boy's Pokemon other than the Abra; a Shinx and a Meowth, eh? " Well, I think I'll start the first match off with Aoi, my Oddish." Murasaki called, much to the delight of the little weed Pokemon. The Oddish dashed for wards, excited by the aspect of a fight; Kurenai and Midori drew back slightly, both wondering how the first scuffle would turn out.
<" Let's get on with this!"> Aoi shouted, her eyes crinkling with a smile; she'd show that Bulbasaur who was the better battler right here.
" Ecruteak's a very pleasant city, but perhaps we could prolong this until after the battle?" Murasaki said, noting the stutters of the boy; how nervous was this kid? In the back of her mind, the girl celebrated the fact he seemed to lack confidence. Easy pickings to level up her plants, what more could Murasaki ask for?

"I...I'll go with Spark then..." He carefully tapped the critter's head to get its attention, because Spark had gotten sidetracked and was now chewing on her red handkerchief. It was ever so yummy, red did taste a lot better than other colors.
"G...go on Spark, go say hello to Aoi over there. We're going to have a fight." At the word 'fight', Spark's ears jumped straight up and she quickly hurried over to stand near the Oddish, jumping from one leg to the other in some sort of warming-up. Spark enjoyed battling, even if it did mean not getting to chew the color red for a while.
"A...alright. E...Ecruteak can wait. A...are you ready?" Well, ladies first, right? He couldn't attack first, then he wouldn't be behaving like a gentleman at all.

" How polite. I suppose our first attack will be our only move. Aoi, if you'd please, dive for ward and to the left, then use your Absorb attack on Spark. Keep on your toes, though" Murasaki smiled as she said this, wishing for the best. The boy's sudden boost of confidence, for she noted his stuttering had almost dropped off, unnerved her. The last statement she'd made was in preparation for any sort of retaliation. Shinx were electric types, after all, and rather speedy.
Aoi grinned as Sparks drew closer, the gap between the two closing; Absorb was much easier to hit at close range than long range, after all. The leaves on her head stirred, glowing as a ball of energy formed within them; it was like a green aurora, swirling about rapidly, gathering power as it formed an emerald sphere. Following the command of her trainer, Aoi darted to the left, veering closer to Spark, before releasing her Absorb.
The glowing green sphere shot out wards, breaking up into several smaller ones that flew forward, almost resembling oversized fireflies; it might be a decently quick move, but Absorb was also rather weak. A speedy little Pokemon could dodge it, if their Trainer reacted in time...
